Hey all, long time no chit chat......very sorry!!
Been thinking, I have sorely neglected my blog which is extremely naughty of me I know, my bad :'(
I have obviously had a very serious chat with myself, and on the whole I listened to what I had to say; and I think I took it pretty well really. I offered myself some advice - which I took on board, and will try to put into practice - after all, I only have my best interests at heart :)

OK - Moving swiftly along and leaving  my random ramblings to one side, I really will try and blog more frequently than I have been doing. Like everyone else in the world you sometimes just get caught up in other things, and some stuff gets neglected, so we will try and amend that situation. I do find it difficult sometimes to find time as there's only me doing this, and between trying to build the business, a website, a reputation - run a home and everything that goes with that, spend time with wonderful boyfriend and awesome son - add to that a few hours work in a part time job whilst I try and get Hostile Hides a viable concern......phew!!! See what I mean? I'm knackered just writing it down lol. *resists urge to go and have a vodka and a lie down*

I'm hoping to maybe do few blog posts based around leather work, and anything connected with it that hope you will find interesting and informative. It could be a product I found that seemed to work well, or a technique I used that made life easier, anything I think you might like really. It's funny sometimes the odd little things you find as you go along, that make things a little easier when your working :)

There are some wonderful posts on the net that people have taken the time and trouble to put up for the likes of you and me to read, laugh at, gain advise or knowledge from; or just hold your attention for a short while. I love reading them when I have time, and think it would be kick ass if someone thought reading mine was even half as entertaining or interesting as those.

Anyhow that's it for now, hope everyone is well and life is treating you nicely.
Much hugs from me, and don't forget - get your friends to go to facebook and like our page. It good for my page of course, but they also get to save a very sad cow from becoming a piece of armour, or some belt or accessory. Plus they get to see a very happy, grateful cow in it's new home when they hit the like button :)

Bye for now

Quick update

Hi again,
only a quick blog as I have been really busy figuring out the prices of the goods for going on the website:(
Hot dam is that a pain in the proverbial lower portions, anyhow it's getting there now. Only have a few more pictures to upload and sort the prices and then it's just a case of doing them as I go along; as opposed to doing a load and wishing I was attached intravenously to a vodka drip to help me through.
Anyway I digress lol, I have been thinking about my new arch enemy the ninja tin lid, and I was wondering what he might look like? so I knocked together a reasonably close photo-fit of him. I do this out of concern for all you out there who may not be aware of the Nemesis that has arisen in our midst, and so attach the afore mentioned photo-fit so you may remain vigilante, and stay safe.

I am currently purchasing more cows to add to my protection against this menace, and highly suggest you do the same.

Chat soon and be on your guard!!

Evening everyone

Hi and hello there,
bit late here now but I just finished some work on the website so thought I would do a quick post. Well where to start..... the other day I was in the workshop and thought I would go for a quick smoke, anyhoo while I was in the kitchen I decided to clear all the pots. Everything was washed but there was a can lid on the worktop, which I was wiping down at the time. Not thinking much of it, I decided to nudge it to one side with the cloth while I was wiping, intending to move it when I was done. What I didn't realise was  that for whatever reason it had stuck to the worktop, so my nudge didn't work and instead I sliced the side of my finger open.

Now I didn't know tin lids were capable of this sort of sneaky underhanded tactic, and assumed if it wanted to attack me, it would have the decency to do it head on .... but no, it was like a rogue in stealth mode that sliced when I least expected it. Obviously I checked straight away for any signs of black clothing and ninja style masks but I saw none, so I can only surmise this was a master ninja tin lid that is way to cool to wear ninja garb, and attacks naked!! Not to be defeated I scooped the offending lid up and put it in the recycle bin, sniggering at the fact that it would be melted down, and at my victory over the ninja tin lid. I would just like to point out though that I have since wondered about this, and if it will reconstruct itself in the fashion of terminator 2; pulling it's ninja bits and pieces back together to regain its former malevolence. I hope it doesn't find it's way back here...and seek.......revenge !!!!!

Anyway clawing my way out of a JD moment and back to reality, my finger didn't bleed straight away it waited a while (ninja style?) and then when it decided to bleed - it poured. Problem being it did it when I least expected it (hmmm..) and waited until I had started working on a new piece of leather. Clearly this piece is now not fit for working and selling but is now just a reminder of the incident and only suitable for testing patterns/ideas out on, no one wants to buy blood splattered leather.

OO wait though I just thought, it would be awesome for LARPers, pre blood soaked, battle aftermath looking armour; maybe there's a selling point there?

Well that's it from me for now, I'm off to have a chill and train those cows in the art of the ninja.

Busy Busy

Well hi again,
Just a quick post so you know I am still breathing and alive :)
Work on the website is finally taking shape, I hope to never ever have to make another, what a tedious job that was.  Never built one before though and I spose it's something you just get used to. Happy with how its going and hoping you guys think it looks ok too.
Off into my hidey hole now to tame angry cows and get them to do some work *pokes cow into work mode*
Have a good day all

Hi and Welcome

Copied this from the first blog I did the other day, but I had to take it down as it just wasn't letting me format anything - so I pasted it over to this one so my message wasn't lost. Anyhoo here it is for you to see :)

Hey all, this is my first ever blog anywhere so I'm in new territory at the moment. Uploaded the website so I could see how it looked and some parts look really great, plus I'm happy with the overall look of it. On the down side some parts are going to need some work doing on them; I never thought building a site would be so time consuming and such hard work. Still so much to add and my mind is buzzing with ideas for stuff but I really need to get this half decent first.
Well thats it for today it was just to introduce myself and say hi, and to welcome you to the site. I'm off now to train those angry cows in the fine art of website building
